TBGLC Final Field trip of 2018!
Annual Amethyst Tour to the Blue Points and Diamond Willow Amethyst Mines at Pearl (30 min. drive east of Thunder Bay). Muster at the Terry Fox Lookout Parking Lot at 8:30 am and proceed as a group to the mines. Return to the Terry Fox Lookout by 3 pm. Car pooling is encouraged. Proper footwear, warm cloths, water and some cash are a necessity (if you plan to collect or buy samples). There is no entrance fee at either site. Plastic collecting bags are supplied by the club or bring your own plastic bucket or fibre bag.
Member, Bram Hasler, has also arranged about 1pm to go to the Boulder Creek Mine, The Dzuba Mine and possibly the Keetch Quarry. There’s no collecting permitted at the Boulder and the Keetch but it’s interesting to see.
